This weekend I raced in the Pacific F2000 series at Buttonwillow Raceway Park near Bakersfield, CA. This entry-level pro series was running with the Cal Club SCCA Hoosier Super Tour Majors event for races 5 and 6 of their twelve race season. For the first time in this series' history they ran a separate "National" class (Pinto-powered) for early F2000/FC cars. We only had three … [Read more...] about GOIN’ PRO AT 54
Earl’s AN Plumbing
One of the series I race in, TABS 2.5 West, has a great sponsor in ANPlumbing.com. Not only do they race with us, they supply the parts I need in a fairly priced and quickly shipped manner. Lots of good race car plumbing advice is just a call or an email away. I got a deal on a new set of AN wrenches from them, nice product at a great price. … [Read more...] about Earl’s AN Plumbing
HIGH DESERT CHALLENGE ’17
VARA and SVRA co-hosted a great event at Willow Spring Raceway this weekend. We had 150 vintage car entries running in 7 Groups, and the Trans-Am West pro series ran with us as well. I'm glad to report that … [Read more...] about HIGH DESERT CHALLENGE ’17

Luckily Sunday's races were dry and everyone finally got the chance to enjoy the 3.4 mile Mansell course. Our Club's usual … [Read more...] about VARA DUEL IN THE DESERT ’17

I was driving my truck, talking, and holding my iPhone camera, so hardly a professional effort. But hopefully it's of some use to our Rookies. … [Read more...] about BUTTONWILLOW #14CW, THE SCHOOL LINE
HELMET REVIEW
For the 2017 season, all clubs have ended their temporary extension that allowed SA2005 helmets due to the lack of supply of SA2015 helmets. So now SA2010 or SA2015 helmets are required for competition. I've been shopping, and started out at my local retail shop, Wine Country Motorsports at Sonoma Raceway. They're a great source for safety gear, i.e. helmets, seats, fire suits, … [Read more...] about HELMET REVIEW
