A longtime crew member of mine, Art, just bought his first race car this summer, so it was my turn to crew for him. He bought a 1979 Tiga Sports 2000 from a fellow friend and competitor that was truly "race ready", a real rarity these days. The plan is to get a couple track days in prior to the next licensing school to get him familiar with the car. We spent the week prior … [Read more...] about TRACK DAY AT SONOMA

VARA-U ’25
This year's VARA-U driving school had unusually nice weather, sunny and cool, and no rain or fog. Students within four different groups got their usual dose of classroom instruction, braking and slalom exercises, skidpad laps, and lots of track time. To keep this sport alive and in good hands, we need to pass along the skills, passion, and camaraderie to the next group of vintage … [Read more...] about VARA-U ’16
HOLIDAY TESTING
Yesterday the San Francisco Region of SCCA held their annual member's Free Test Day at the club-owned racetrack, Thunderhill Raceway. It's a great way for the Club to 'share' its profits from the year with its members. A cold day for sure, it was 32F when I arrived, and it never got above 40F, but the winds were calm and the track was in good condition, so we got in some … [Read more...] about HOLIDAY TESTING
