We had a great weekend of racing at Sonoma Raceway even though we are still operating under the COVID protocols. 175 cars signed up to race and we had fantastic Spring weather for the event with lows in the 40's and highs in the 70's. We had a smaller turnout than usual in Group 4's USRRC contingent, but as long as you've got a couple good cars to race with, you're still having … [Read more...] about CSRG DAVID LOVE VINTAGE RACES, SONOMA ’21

VARA HIGH DESERT CHALLENGE ’21
I was very, very fortunate the last few years to be able to own both a SCCA race car and a vintage race car. But with my pandemic-induced race budget reduction, I'm going back to a one car stable that I can race in both arenas. The Pro Formula Mazda has been sold, and the Bobsy is up next. The car that will carry me forward is the #61 1979 Lola T492 Sports 2000. I bought it … [Read more...] about VARA HIGH DESERT CHALLENGE ’21
CSRG (AND MY 2020 SEASON) FINALE
Great race weekend up at Thunderhill Raceway with CSRG over the Halloween weekend. I got to pit with some old friends and made some new ones as well. Had a couple nice dinners re-telling old stories, burned off the end of this season's tires, the car ran great, and we even got a few good races in. It was a great way to end the season! … [Read more...] about CSRG (AND MY 2020 SEASON) FINALE

Strict COVID protocol was required with multiple liability wavers, masks, social distancing, no spectators, no Club gatherings, temps in the 90s, etc, … [Read more...] about CSRG CHARITY CHALLENGE 2020, THE EXPLODED VIEW
CSRG DAVID LOVE MEMORIAL RACES, JULY 2020
Well this race was supposed to occur in the Spring, but we're happy to wait until Summer to make sure it happened. The COVID restrictions of no spectators, no indoor gatherings, and face masks at all times is getting a bit tiresome, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. My Bobsy was running well and we battled with Geir all weekend in his Lotus 23b. I took the Saturday race and … [Read more...] about CSRG DAVID LOVE MEMORIAL RACES, JULY 2020
VARA BE, MAY 2020
VARA was the first club to open up after the COVID-19 lockdown. We were still under the 'Health Guidelines' restrictions - masks, social distancing, no spectators, etc, but at least we were at the track racing. Entry numbers were about half the usual, but that actually worked out as registration, the pits, and the run groups remained a bit mellower than normal. The L.A. Times … [Read more...] about VARA BE, MAY 2020
