Sailors may get the summer doldrums, but racers get the winter doldrums. What to do when the tracks shut down for a couple months? Well other than getting re-acquainted with your friends and family, and catching up on all your household chores, racers can get around to fixing all those little issues with their cars. This winter I’m enjoying a heated garage for the first time ever, what a joy on these aging bones! I also like to visit car and motorcycle shows. This winter the San Francisco International Airport is showing an exhibit of 1950’s and 60’s Italian small-bore sportbikes. The restoration on these race and street bikes are truely jewel-like, making this exhibit worth a visit even if you’re not catching a flight.
