THINGS THAT GO VROOM

WAGON UPDATE #1

April 28, 2009 by Troy 3 Comments

I spent a couple of days dismantling to see what I’ve got. Engine bay stripped, dash removed, starting on the doors, glass, and suspension. Previous owner made a few cool mods for track-day events: lowering springs in front, teflon TC bushings, rear comp springs with lowering blocks, and a first gen multi-link rear axle mod that I think I’m gonna update and give a try. I found some BRE style fiberglass flared front fenders on craigslist, borrowed a seat and steering wheel from a friend, then sat in the car and made vroom-vroom noises. Gotta start somewhere…

    Troy,

The view thru the rear hatch is reminiscent of the Volvo S70 (?) BTCC wagons of the late 90’s. Cool stuff. Look those up for some inspiration. Go wild with roll cage tubing, Petty Bar, etc. Tech inspectors will flip! Lose the rack, one word, DRAG!

Those vroom vroom moments are really important, especially during the build when you start to loose momentum. ;)
