My favorite era for auto racing was during the late 60s/early 70s Can-Am series. The cars, drivers, engineers, all truely incredible, it was a 1000+ horsepower free-for-all. And my favorite era for motorcycle racing was the late 70s/early 80s Grand Prix series. Again, the bikes, riders, and builders were all amazing. The 500cc two-stroke rockets with skinny tires set these guys apart. Great vintage footage abounds on YouTube, here’s a couple of fun ones…
