We had a big turnout of Datsuns for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the 240Z at Auto Club Speedway last week. Rain in town and snow in the mountains were falling heavily on unloading day, but thankfully the skies cleared long enough for a nice weekend of racing. John Morton was there as our Grand Marshall, there was a Datsun car show in one parking lot, an autocross course in another, and lots of good racing on the Roval Road Course. Unfortunately my “high-speed” 4.11 diff decided it didn’t want to last more than one session, so I had to put my short-track 4.88 back in. It just wasn’t fun (or safe for the motor) to go blasting around the big track in that config, so I trailered the car and just enjoyed the party. However I was able to channel my inner BS Levy and bum a ride for Sunday ;-)
