As my 2017 season came to a close last weekend, two facts became clearly evident to me. One, I’m a very lucky dog, and two, racing isn’t cheap ;-) This year I was able to race in three vintage events and four SCCA events, that’s a lot of entry fees, tires, gas, motels, etc. I spent a lot of time, energy, and yes, money prepping, traveling, and racing in 2017, and it was worth every penny! I made some new friends, learned some new things, and fought for a few wins. The problem is it has left me wanting even more for next year…
This weekend VARA hosted its annual homage to V8 thunder, including an extra Big Bore Pursuit race on Sunday, always a fun one to watch. VARA is enjoying a great sponsor relationship with Lucas Oil these days, and Lucas had lots of oil swag for us racers this event. Sure nice to have a club sponsor who knows what we need. 
And this year I saw some very heavy hauling going on on my way to the track.
