SVRA made their annual Spring swing to Northern/Central California with back-to-back race weekends at Sonoma and Laguna Seca Raceways this month. They brought their familiar cavalcade of events including SVRA historic car racing, Trans-Am pro racing, Optima Battery Street Car Challenge, and the Hagerty car show. I was working both events, wearing multiple hats of Tech scrutineer, Pace Car driver, Car Show judge, and I even got a little racing in at Sonoma (that is until my race ended on the ‘rope of shame’ due to a broken clutch). Two four-day race weekends in a row made for a lot of work, but we still found some time for a little fireside camaraderie with old friends.
