The Sports Racer Challenge Series joined SVRA at Portland Int’l Raceway this weekend under sunny skies for its third race of 2025. Unfortunately several of the California regulars (Rose, Tinsley, Capone, Lang) were unable to make the trek north with their sports racers, but we were glad to see some of the PNW locals join us. Ernie Spada and family were the gracious hosts of their annual strawberry shortcake feed in the paddock, and Ernie brought out a couple of his cars as well. Series regular Steve Hoog broke a camshaft during Saturday’s sprint race and wasn’t able to make Sunday’s feature race. Jason Perkins was fast all weekend in his DB2, John McCoy brought out his unique Mallock mk27, and Mark Viscov joined us in his Lola CSR.
