In the midst of weeks of rain, we had a race at Sonoma raceway! The Sunday race was under cold, cloudy, but dry skies, however the track was weeping all over the place, making for some “exciting” conditions. I raced my Pro Mazda with Group 4 which this weekend included FA and F4. I learned that F4 is made up mostly of young-ins transitioning out of go-carts, and making their way up the racing food chain. It was a new experience for me – competitors 1/3 my age, spins on the warm-up lap, parents in the pits, etc.
Day two (Monday in this case) called for rain, so with me not having any rain tires, I decided not to go out and challenge the young lions.
