VARA had their season finale this week at Willow Springs Int'l Raceway. Mornings were in the high 20's (!!!), afternoons in the 60s, with sunny (but smokey) skies all weekend. The first groups out each day had quite the challenge to get their cars started and warmed up, I went out mid-morning with about five square feet of duct tape covering up most of my inlet ducts. CSRG CHARITY CHALLENGE ’18
This was my first race weekend with the CSRG club and I was quite impressed. Not a cheap entry, but it was held at the fantastic Sonoma Raceway, it had a Friday afternoon test day, and a terrific club dinner and social Saturday night, so it was well worth the cost. We had a large contingent of small bore sports racers in Group 4 for this event, about 25 cars, including Elvas, … [Read more...] about CSRG CHARITY CHALLENGE ’18
IN WITH THE NEW, OUT WITH THE OLD

SFR SCCA LAGUNA ’18
SFR and PF2000 had a great event this weekend at WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway (it's gonna take me a while to get used to the new name). WeatherTech, SCRAMP, and the County seem to be playing well together for now, as track maintenance and upgrades are occurring, and there are rumors Indy cars will be coming back soon. Great bonus for us local club racers who get to use this … [Read more...] about SFR SCCA LAGUNA ’18
REAL RACIN’
This Saturday we spent the afternoon at the Moore Speed race shop celebrating Paul's 50th birthday. Paul bravely set up an autocross course in the shop parking lot for his drift trike. Lawnmower engine, solid PVC rear wheels, and a heavy propensity for direction-swapping spins. Add in a few beers and a dozen racers and you have a hilarious afternoon of racin'! … [Read more...] about REAL RACIN’
