Well, the spot in my garage wasn’t empty for long, because a new stray found it’s way into my heart. This is going to be a documented, budget build with the help of friends and sponsors. The idea is to build a fast and good looking race car while staying on a tight budget, and to have some fun and learn some new skills along the way. It’s gonna be a craigslist/ebay/junkyard/Nissan Comp Catalog kind of project. Here’s a picture of my new baby, a 1971 510 wagon (after a couple hours of scrubbing and vacuuming). I’ll send a special “Thank you” in advance to Peoria Nissan, Arnett Engineering, The Moore Speed Co, and Turk Performance. Please check in regularly for updates, and leave me comments about your thoughts on the project.

Hi Troy,
That’s a smart move. My Celica became quite the frankenstein with the F20C swap. My next project will probably stay with the original engine block and tranny.
Hi Koich, I was thinking of doing the 510 coupe rear-end swap, but have decided to do a multi-link solid axle setup instead. I want to keep the original drivetrain setup so I can be legal in more vintage clubs that require OE suspension pickup points. I’m going to document the work, thanks for following along. Troy
No fair you washed it!
Hi there. Just started RSS’ing your site. Cool stuff! Interesting choice of a new project. Are you going to swap the rear end out for a IRS?
