Fifteen years ago I started keeping a racing calendar on my computer that was compiled from several different club’s schedules. My job has an irregular schedule, often on short notice, so I never knew very far in advance when I’d get to go racing. The idea was if I ended up with a weekend off at the last minute, I could usually find someplace to go racing by checking my calendar. Back then clubs didn’t have the great websites and calendars like they do today, so having this all compiled in advance really helped me out. I started adding to my calendar with photos, stories about my race car projects, race weekend notes, tips on how to get started, and it slowly became my blog Racing On The Cheap.
Well I’ve added a few more toys over the years, and I’m no longer sleeping in my truck at the track and buying used tires, so I decided I needed to update the name of my blog. I spend a lot of time riding motorcycles and mountain bikes, I like going to airshows as well as car shows, and all my neighbors have boats, so I came up with the new blog name Things That Go Vroom, and all my old posts and pages are here now. I hope you enjoy blog 2.0.
