We got lucky this weekend with absolutely great weather! Lows in the 50s, highs around 80, clear skies and no wind, and with more track time than I could handle (never said that before), it was a great way to finish off the season. I had no tire, gas, or strength left at the end and gladly put Miss Lola away for the winter. CSRG ran this 3-day event with two Practices, two Qualifiers, four (!!!) Flag races, a one-hour enduro, and lunch time mechanical picnics. Now that is a GREAT SCHEDULE!
On Saturday night we enjoyed the Club Banquet and the annual Halloween costume contest. Next year’s schedule was released by the Board with a “vote” to schedule the final race the wknd after Halloween instead of over it. Hopefully the costume contest stays as a tradition however.
Group 5/7 (Wings & Slicks) had about a dozen cars, with a mix of FAs, FBs, FSVs, and S2s. A little slim, but lots of budgets are blown by this point of the season. We’re hoping to add some WSRs to the Group next season as vintage sports racers are working on a comeback to fill out the grid. Kudos to the Club for a great season, and looking forward to 2026 after a well needed break.
