CSRG is sponsoring a USRRC run group this year in their usual Group 4, it's made up of over and under 2.0L sports racers from the 1963-1967 era. Go to https://www.historicsportsracer.com for more info. My '65 Bobsy SR3 fits in very nicely with this group, and hopefully the class continues to grow over the next couple years. We had twenty <2.0L and four >2.0L cars for the … [Read more...] about CSRG DAVID LOVE MEMORIAL, APRIL 2019, SONOMA RCWY

ROLEX REUNION ’18
Every year the Monterey Historics, ahem, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, seems to outdo itself. Hundreds of spectacular cars from all around the world on public display and available for everyone to see up close. Whether folks are worth millions of dollars or could barely afford the entry ticket, these fellow enthusiasts mingle in the pits, grandstands, and pubs around … [Read more...] about ROLEX REUNION ’18
VARA SPRING MOUNTAIN DUEL IN THE DESERT, ’18
I got the 710 back out last week to race with VARA at the terrific Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch facility in Pahrump, NV. Yeah, it's a long haul from NorCal, but worth it. The trip home turned into a bit of a mess with 50 knot crosswinds across the Central Nevada desert, and chains required over the Sierras (even on the trailer), but at least we had a story to … [Read more...] about VARA SPRING MOUNTAIN DUEL IN THE DESERT, ’18
VARA BIG BORE BASH ’17
As my 2017 season came to a close last weekend, two facts became clearly evident to me. One, I'm a very lucky dog, and two, racing isn't cheap ;-) This year I was able to race in three vintage events and four SCCA events, that's a lot of entry fees, tires, gas, motels, etc. I spent a lot of time, energy, and yes, money prepping, traveling, and racing in 2017, and it was worth … [Read more...] about VARA BIG BORE BASH ’17
SFR SCCA THUNDERHILL, NOV ’17
Just finished up a weekend of racing at Thunderhill Raceway Park for the SFR SCCA season finale. One week ago we had ten FCs signed up for Group 4, with an even split of first and second gen cars. Unfortunately we had only three FCs make the show, two of them first-gen cars. NorCal fires, Halloween, the flu, alien invasion, I just don't know??? The first-gen car other than mine … [Read more...] about SFR SCCA THUNDERHILL, NOV ’17
LAGUNA ’17 #2
Wow, we survived! Laguna Seca Raceway saw record high temps for the SFR SCCA race Sept 1-3, it was well over 100F Friday and Saturday, cooling off into the mid 90s for Sunday. You just don't expect that at Laguna, summer races usually start off cold and foggy until mid-morning, then sunny and 70 for the afternoon races. The temps indeed tested man and machine, but I was able to … [Read more...] about LAGUNA ’17 #2
