In the midst of weeks of rain, we had a race at Sonoma raceway! The Sunday race was under cold, cloudy, but dry skies, however the track was weeping all over the place, making for some "exciting" conditions. VARA had their season finale this week at Willow Springs Int'l Raceway. Mornings were in the high 20's (!!!), afternoons in the 60s, with sunny (but smokey) skies all weekend. This was my first race weekend with the CSRG club and I was quite impressed. Not a cheap entry, but it was held at the fantastic Sonoma Raceway, it had a Friday afternoon test day, and a terrific club dinner and social Saturday night, so it was well worth the cost. Last weekend I delivered my Van Diemen RF93 FC to its new owner, I'm glad to say it's staying in the club. SFR and PF2000 had a great event this weekend at WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway (it's gonna take me a while to get used to the new name). WeatherTech, SCRAMP, and the County seem to be playing well together for now, as track maintenance and upgrades are occurring, and there are rumors Indy cars will be coming back soon.
