This week I picked up a 1993 Van Diemen Formula Continental from a fellow SFR SCCA racer who parked it a few years ago. No "big" work required, just the usual new car stuff. Battery, belts, seat, tires, some re-wiring and plumbing clean-up issues, etc, I hope to have it out at the track by year's end. The car will race with SFR in FC, at least until I can dig a few other older … [Read more...] about CFC ADDED TO THE FLEET

F5000
Maybe the closest I'll ever get to driving a Lola F5000, but at least sitting in the car mid-resto was pretty darn cool! Just think, Sam Posey sat in that seat 40 years ago... … [Read more...] about F5000
2016 FORMULA FORD RACING and TIRE RULES

VARA BIG BORE BASH ’15

With cool air for lots of horsepower, and plenty of sunshine to warm the asphalt and tires, many racers were knocking down best personal times. I … [Read more...] about VARA BIG BORE BASH ’15
SFR SCCA THUNDERHILL, TAKE 3
The 2015 season Finally, or is that Finale... We made our third trip to Thunderhill Raceway last week to wrap up the 2015 SCCA season. Weather was great, turnout was good, and we had some excellent racing in Group 4. I'm happy to say I made some good friends in my first full season with this club, and look forward to racing with them for years to come. And I must admit I was … [Read more...] about SFR SCCA THUNDERHILL, TAKE 3
SCCA SONOMA 2015
This weekend I raced at Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon and Sears Point) for the first time. I did a track day there about five years ago, but racing there with SFR SCCA was a whole 'nother experience. The 2.5 mile, 14 turn track has big elevation changes, several blind corners, walls where you don't want them, and very few places to catch your breath. I came home both … [Read more...] about SCCA SONOMA 2015
