This weekend was VARA's 2014 British Extravaganza at Buttonwillow Raceway. Great turnout of Historic racers, as well as the usual All-British car race. Last weekend I raced with VARA and SVRA-West at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada, about 50 miles west of Las Vegas. Boy, what a scorcher! This weekend was the annual VARA Oktoberfest race weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway, featuring the Trans Am/B Sedan season finale. Temps were in the triple digits, I saw 104 at race time on Sunday, but the Race Wagon kept its cool while I drove the wheels (and tires) off it. RacingOnTheCheap reader Simon Barnett of Tasmania, Australia has a pretty sweet street-legal track-prepped 510 wagon. He's owned it for 17 years and has installed a SR20DE engine, S13 (240sx) five-speed, R31 (Skyline) diff, upgraded suspension and disc brakes all around.
