We built a pedal box mount bracket to hold the Wilwood pedal assembly in place. Then we cut out the old steering column and brackets and fabbed up a new system using a rollcage-mounted adjustable support containing a spherical bearing for the new shaft. Afterwards we got the passenger seat in for some test fitting. … [Read more...] about BRAKE PEDAL BOX AND STEERING COLUMN

GOOD DAY WITH POWER TOOLS
Any day that you get to use power tools is a good day! While the Wagoon roof is off, I spent some time removing some unnecessary metal. After a couple hours with a cutoff wheel and a grinder, the roof was fifteen pounds lighter. Then some time with the spot-weld cutting bits, and the engine compartment battery shelf was a goner. … [Read more...] about GOOD DAY WITH POWER TOOLS
RACE SEATS
After taking the month of August off to pack, move, and unpack, I'm back to work on the Race Wagon. Yesterday we got to fabricating the floorboard seat plates, and mounting the seats to them. WAGON ROLLCAGE, part 3

We got in the diagonals, the passenger door bars, and the bars through the firewall to tie in the front strut towers. The driver-side door bars will go in after the Wilwood pedal box assembly goes in, and the rear down bars after the IRS is fabbed in. . . . … [Read more...] about WAGON ROLLCAGE, part 3
WAGON ROLLCAGE, part 2
We got back to work and went a little hog-wild on the modifications... Just kidding. Today we cut out the inner cowl and seat braces with the plasma cutter. We got the forward loop plates in, bent and installed the main down bars, and got the header tube in. The front wheelwell enlargement mods done by the previous owner can be seen in these photos. A triangular patch … [Read more...] about WAGON ROLLCAGE, part 2
