A race car mechanic mentor of mine taught me how to vinyl wrap this week. I’ve always wanted to give it a try, but now I can see why the wrap shops charge so much. Not only is the high quality vinyl expensive, the skills required to make the job look good are definitely earned through experience. While knifetape has definitely made the task easier, it still takes a very patient and steady hand to make the job look professional. My job came out good, but far from perfect, and I didn’t even have any really complicated curves and designs to deal with.
